Information Technology & Computer Science focuses on the needs of business data processing rather than on scientific research. We offer instruction and practice in hardware and software usage, computer programming, networking, database programming, Internet/Web development, and systems development.

Geospatial Technology

This new degree and certificate program prepares students to work in geospatial technology and related fields, such as Geographic Information System (GIS), analysis of satellite and aerial imagery, and applications of Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Typical GIS technicians create maps and analysis for emergency response and hazards, urban planning, natural resources management, homeland security, transportation planning and logistics, utility mapping and location data, and more. Qualifying full-time (12 or more credits) Lakeland students may register for one course per term during the regular academic year, on a space available basis, at any of the institutions participating in the cross registration program coordinated by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education.
